2009 Project Directories
STUDENT APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 3rd 2009
The selection process is quite competitive since entering first-year medical students and rising second-year medical students get first preference and will receive a full stipend. Undergraduate students in the combined BS/MD seven year program may perform research projects as a volunteer while fulfilling their credit requirement.
To apply for a project, student must arrange to meet with the mentor of the project in which they are interested. The selection of a particular student for a project is at the discretion of the faculty mentor. Once a match has been made the student must complete the Application Form above and obtain the mentors signature. Completed applications must be submitted by the deadline to: Lorie-Anne Phillips, Cancer Center Research Support Office, on H level, room 1204.
Requirements
Students must be in good academic standing to participate. Projects are to be carried out during an eight-week period in which the students must not have any other academic activities . Students cannot participate in this program and any other full-time program sponsored by the New Jersey Medical School . If you need to retake one exam, you will be considered to be in good academic standing. However, if you must re-exam in more than one course; or, if you must attend a course during the summer, you are NOT eligible to participate in this program.
